Definition
Ergon offers an Educational Assistance Fund for children of employees from which Grants-in-Aid may be awarded for undergraduate education at accredited colleges, junior colleges, technical schools and, trade schools.

Applications for the Grant-in-Aid must be received by the submission deadline. Grants will then be awarded by lottery.  Click here for the 2025-2026 academic year application.

Eligibility
Only dependent children under the age of 24 of regular-status employees of the Ergon companies are eligible to participate. A dependent child is defined as a child born to the employee, a child legally adopted by the employee, or a stepchild of the employee. The Grant will not be paid to any dependent while that dependent is employed at an Ergon company during the school year.

Employees may submit an application for each child in the family who is eligible to participate. All names will be included in the lottery; only one Grant, however, will be awarded per family. The parent of the recipient of the Grant must be actively employed with one of the Ergon companies and not on unpaid leave in order for the Grant to be dispersed.

If, after being selected in the lottery, the recipient of the Grant marries, accepts full-time employment, or is no longer dependent on the employee/parent for support, the recipient of the Grant will be declared ineligible to receive the Grant or any portion of the Grant that remains unpaid.

Each eligible student may apply for a Grant-in-Aid during each year of his or her undergraduate education; each individual eligible student, however, may receive no more than four annual Grants-in-Aid.

Payment
Each annual Grant-in-Aid will be paid in two parts. A student-recipient can receive an awarded
Grant-in-Aid for two semesters in one academic year. An academic year will begin with the fall session and extend through the following summer.

Full-time college students who satisfy all requirements will receive $1,250 per session.

Part-time college, technical, or trade school students who satisfy all requirements will
receive remuneration for tuition up to a maximum of $1,250 per session.
